The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition

German automaker Mercedes-Benz has just made the S-Class Coupe even more special. Dubbed the Night Edition, it receives some cosmetic updates over the regular S-Class Coupe. While we will get to that part in a bit, Mercedes-Benz has said that this car will make its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2017. It will then be launched in Europe in April 2017, followed by its launch in the US in August 2017. Since the car has cosmetic changes, the engine and other mechanical components remain the same as the regular S-Class Coupe. Read on to find out what has changed.

The S-Class Coupe Night Edition gets a blacked-out grille with the three-pointed star badge in the middle and a single chrome slat running along the middle. This is in contrast to the regular coupe's jewel-effect grille. The S-Class Coupe Night Edition also gets 20-inch, multi-spoke, black AMG wheels. The rear-view mirrors and side sill inserts on the S-Class Coupe Night Edition have also been blacked out. The door sills have illuminated Mercedes-Benz plates and there are Night Edition badges on the front wings. A special paint scheme called Selenite Grey Magno is also available as an option on the S-Class Coupe Night Edition.

On the inside, the coupe gets an AMG steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather with "Night Edition" engraving. The S-Class Coupe Night Edition is available in three variants, the S 400 4Matic Coupe, S 500 Coupe and the S 500 4Matic Coupe. As far as its India launch is concerned, Mercedes has revealed nothing in this respect for now. Also, the Night Edition seems like the S-Class Coupe getting the AMG Sport treatment minus the mechanical upgrades. For those who don't know, AMG Sport models used to feature parts and performance upgrades, over the regular models, from AMG and acted as a bridge between the regular cars and the full-bore AMG vehicles from Mercedes.
