Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited made its entry in the Indian motorsport arena by announcing the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup. The Japanese two-wheeler giant will provide a full grid of 20 race-prepared Gixxer SF motorcycles for 5 rounds of racing. The Suzuki Gixxer Cup will be a one make championship and will be held between June to October 2015. The racing series will be divided into two categories – “Novice” for beginners and “Open” for seasoned racers.
The Suzuki Gixxer Cup championship will be held in conjunction with the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. Suzuki will setup a specialised team of experts and pit crew to support the riders. Suzuki will join the likes of Honda, Yamaha and TVS who are already present with their one make championship series. The Suzuki Gixxer Cup championship is approved by the FMSCI (The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) and organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club.

Apart from showcasing the real potential of the Gixxer SF to Indian motorsport enthusiasts, this championship will double up as an opportunity for local racers to hone their skills by providing them an affordable platform to gain valuable racing experience and exposure to the dynamic sport of motorcycle racing.”
