Ever since its debut, the TVS NTorq 125 has managed the rare feat of impressing both customers and critics alike. This can be attributed to its stealth fighter-like design and the level of performance it offers for just under Rs 60,000.
Speaking of design, the latest scooter from TVS is offered in six different colours - yellow, white, green, red, blue and grey - with the latter two being added quite recently. So which one suits the NTorq the best? Before we reveal our pick, here’s what we think of each colour option.
Matte Yellow - The matte yellow option could be the obvious choice for some considering that the scooter is mostly advertised in this colour. However, the bright yellow paint job may not appeal to someone looking for a subtly designed scooter that blends in with the crowd.
Matte White - Let's be honest, most scooters in India are finished in white. While it is a "safer" colour option to go for, it doesn't do justice to the NTorq’s sharp design. In fact, it makes the scooter look soft and quite restrained.
Matte Green and Matte Red - The matte green and matte red paint options look refreshing on the TVS scooter. It’s neither too in-your-face like the matte yellow nor subdued like the white.
Metallic Blue - The metallic blue paint option, which was introduced recently, is a good alternative to other bright colours like matte red and matte yellow.
Metallic Grey - Looking for a stealthy look? You can't go wrong with this one. TVS says that they took inspiration from a fighter jet while designing the scooter and what other colour would look good on a fighter jet other than metallic grey, right?
Our Pick - If there was a gun to our head and we had to pick just one colour, we’d pick either the metallic grey or matte yellow one. We’d choose the grey paint scheme because of how well it goes with the scooter’s stealthy and aggressive design, while the matte yellow paint job lends it a distinctive presence on road.
The TVS Ntroq 125 is powered by a 124.8cc engine that puts out 9.4PS of power at 7500rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Priced at Rs 58,750, it rivals the likes of the Aprilia SR 125 (Rs 65,310) and the Honda Grazia (Rs 62,505, all-prices ex-Delhi).
