Our team has spotted the Royal Enfield Scram test mule again and this time it was painted in a shade of grey. The bike appears to be production ready, hinting at an imminent launch.
While it is based on the Himalayan, the Royal Enfield Scram gets quite a few distinctive elements. The headlight is mounted on to the triple clamp and it misses out on the tank brace (gets tank extensions though). Even the windscreen and the rear luggage rack are eliminated. Not to mention, unlike the ADV sibling’s 21-inch front wheel, the Scram seems to ride on a 19-inch front hiinting its intent of being more road-biased than the Himalayan.
However, it features the same halogen headlight, instrument console, metal bash plate, suspension and braking hardware as the Himalayan. Not to mention, the 411cc single cylinder motor churning out 24.31PS and 32Nm for the ADV will also be shared. Since the Scram is likely to be lighter, you can expect it to be more lively than the Himalayan.
Expect Royal Enfield to price it at around Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and place it below the sibling ADV. It’ll have the Yezdi Scrambler in its crosshair.
