The new spy shots reveal interesting details including the new instrument console

The
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing once again, just a few weeks after we brought you the first spy shot of the upcoming adventure motorcycle. These spy shots reveal the complete motorcycle for the first time and give out a few interesting details.

The first thing you’ll notice is how proportionate the bike looks. And despite it being heavily camouflaged, the resemblance with the current Himalayan is evident. It appears that the bike may feature LED illumination all around, which could be a first from the Indian manufacturer.

Furthermore, Royal Enfield appears to have upgraded the braking hardware of the Himalayan 450. The test mule seems to sport a bigger disc up front and a different caliper, likely to be sourced from ByBre. Even the swingarm appears to be beefier than the current Himalayan.

Interestingly, the Himalayan 450’s test mule didn’t sport a vertical digital console, like it was speculated earlier, but a circular unit. While it may appear to be borrowed from the Meteor 350, a closer look at the unit reveals that it isn’t an analogue unit (with digital inlay), but an all-digital one.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to dish out around 40PS and 40Nm from its liquid-cooled engine. It could also feature a six-speed transmission. It is expected to arrive in two variants – a standard and a more hardcore ‘Raid’ variant that’ll pack all the bells and whistles.

The current Himalayan 411 made its debut in 2016 and has been due for an update for quite some time. It is expected to be replaced by the new Himalayan 450, so the expectations for the upcoming motorcycle are already high. Here’s our free advice to Royal Enfield for the Himalayan 450.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to hit the Indian streets by mid-2023 and could be priced around Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom). While its closest competitors currently are the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS, we hope that the Hero XPulse 450 will arrive too by then, leaving customers spoilt for choice.
