Gixxer Key Highlights
Price: The Suzuki Gixxer is available in a single varinat and is priced at Rs 1,37,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Design: The Gixxer has always featured muscular streetfighter styling. There’s a large, sculpted fuel tank that takes centre-stage, and the flat, wide handlebars give the Gixxer a butch stance. The signature twin exhaust exits are still present and seem to be a hit with buyers. The motorcycle comes in three colours: Metallic Triton Blue/Pearl Glacier White, Glass Sparkle Black, and Metallic Oort Gray/Metallic Lush Green.
Features: The Gixxer’s sharp look is also thanks to the oval LED headlight and tail-lamp. Turn indicators continue to be conventional bulbs. Instrumentation is a fully-digital affair with read-outs like two trip-meters and real-time fuel-efficiency being shown. Single-channel ABS ensures safety when panic braking.
Engine: The 155cc motor powering the Gixxer was already fuel-injected, and has now become OBD-2B compliant. It makes 13.6PS and 13.8Nm, which is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Gixxer gets a single-downtube frame and suspension components comprising a conventional telescopic fork and preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends and anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS. The motorcycle weighs in at 141kg kerb and gets a 12-litre fuel tank.
Rivals: The Suzuki Gixxer goes up against the likes of the Yamaha FZ S-Fi, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, and the Hero Xtreme 160R.
