Yamaha FZ 25 Overview
After the success of the 150cc Yamaha FZ series, the Japanese bikemaker introduced the Yamaha FZ25 in 2017. It’s a sporty streetfighter with a 250cc air-oil-cooled engine aimed to compete with 250cc bikes including the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Bajaj Pulsar N250, as well as the Apache RTR 200 4V.
Yamaha FZ 25 Key Highlights
Price: Yamaha FZ is offered in two colours (Metallic Black & Racing Blue) and comes with a price tag of Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: Yamaha has retained the bike’s brawny looks with a muscular fuel tank with tank extensions, split seat and beefy rear tyre. The headlight cluster has been redesigned which makes it look quite robotic, just like the Honda X-Blade. Adding to its sporty appeal are the revised engine cowl and a stubby exhaust with revised muffler guards in the latest version.
Features: The Yamaha FZ25 gets a bi-functional LED projector headlight with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and a LED tail lamp unit with halogen indicators. It sports a negative LCD display which shows real time mileage apart from the regular trove of information. Another notable feature is the side-stand engine cut-off functionality. The more premium FZS 25 comes with knuckle guards, a bigger flyscreen, golden alloy wheels, and snazzier colour schemes.
Engine: Yamaha FZ25 is powered by a single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled, 249cc, fuel-injected engine which produces 20.8PS and 20.1Nm and comes paired with a five-speed transmission. It features a diamond frame which is suspended by a telescopic front-fork and seven-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a 282mm front disc and 220mm rear disc, with standard dual-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 100-section (front) and 140-section (rear) tubeless tyres. It comes with a 14-litre fuel tank and weighs 153kg (kerb). It gets a fairly accessible 795mm tall seat along with 160mm of ground clearance.
Rivals: The FZ 25 goes up against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Bajaj Dominar 250. In a similar price range, you can also consider purchasing the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Yamaha R15 V3.0 and KTM RC 125.
Variants: The FZ25 comes as a single variant with two paint schemes. Apart from shades, they have similar mechanicals and features.

- All three bikes are good in their own forte. Honda Hornet 2.0 is a very likeable motorcycle with great handling dynamics and a frugal engine. The presence of bits such as the USD fork and LED lighting gives it that premium feel but the lack of engine excitement does put a damper on spirits. On the other hand, the Yamaha FZ 25 is powered by a 249 cc engine. This FZ 25 engine generates a power of 20.8 PS @ 8000 rpm and a torque of 20.1 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The new motorcycle gets an LED headlamp and tail lamp. The bike’s negative LCD display shows the real-time mileage apart from the regular trove of information. Another new feature in the BS6 model is the side-stand engine cutoff function. The FZ25 BS6’s premium variant, the FZS 25, gets knuckle guards, a longer windscreen, alloy wheels in the gold finish, and more premium colour options. And Honda CB300F is an amazing bike, it looks muscular and it offers a powerful which is good for long riders. The 2023 Honda CB300F gets a 293cc air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 24.47PS at 7,500rpm and 25.6Nm at 5,500rpm. The updated model’s engine is now BS6.2 and OBD-2 compliant. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision.
