KTM RC 200
KTM RC 200 is a 199cc sports bike with price starting from Rs. 2.17 lakh. It is available in 3 colours and 2 variants. RC 200 mileage is 35 kmpl. It has a six speed gearbox. The bike gets disc brakes in the front and rear, apart from this it weighs 160 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13.7 liters.
Pros and Cons of RC 200
- Sharp but forgiving handling; Meatier torque band aids overall driveability; More accessible ergonomics makes for a better all-rounder
- Tyres lack edge grip
- Letting down the otherwise great handling package; It is a bit pricey; The edgy design is quite polarising
KTM has ushered in a new era of sport machines, and so, it was only fitting for the company to whet our appetite with the RC 200. The new-gen bike is not only fast and sharp as always but is a lot more versatile than the outgoing model. While its design has not been as welcomed as the previous iteration, it does tend to grow on you. It could do with better tyres, though, as that remains one of the chinks in its armour.

RC 200 Key Highlights
Price: The KTM RC 200 is priced at Rs. 2,17,696 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: The most significant update for the RC 200 is to the design. Gone is the old twin-projector fascia, which makes way for the broader, all-LED headlight (the RC 125 gets a halogen unit) flanked by the new fairing-mounted DRLs and indicators integrated into a boomerang-like outline. Besides, KTM has also redesigned the side fairings, so not only will there be less heat emanating out but it’ll also be channelled away from the rider’s legs.
Features: It is pleasing to find that KTM is offering all-LED lighting for the middle child of the RC series. The front turn indicators are integrated into the face of the motorcycle, giving it a flared look. The RC 200 also gets the same monochrome LCD console as the 250 Adventure. This is refreshing and well-laid-out compared to the orange backlit dash on the old model.
Engine: The KTM RC 200 is powered by the same 199cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled, OBD-2 compliant engine that puts out 25.8PS and 19.5Nm. It gets a 40 percent larger airbox, making the torque band meatier. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm WP Apex USD fork (10mm more suspension travel now) and a monoshock. New five-spoke lightweight alloy wheels make their way on to the RC, along with revised braking hardware.
Rivals: The KTM RC 200 has been sitting lonely in the full-faired 200cc supersport segment. The Yamaha R15 V4 is Rs 28,000 more affordable but it has a smaller motor. For Rs 24,000 less than the RC, you could also consider the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, which is more powerful but isn’t quite the sport bike as the RC. Even its Indian cousin, the Bajaj RS 200, is a more street-friendly full-faired motorcycle and not quite the serious supersport like the RC 200.
Variants: KTM RC 200 is offered in 2 variants - GP Edition and the RC 200 STD.
