The Royal Enfield 650cc engine/transmission (and the 411cc engine/transmission of the Himalayan) has an oil cooler which cools the oil before it passes through the filter and then through the engine/transmission. The cooling and lubricating liquids are therefore the same oil, and airflow through the fins helps cool the cylinder head and barrel(s).
