The TRK 702 carries the same chunky ADV profile as the TRK 502, with a large front beak and the 20-litre fuel tank contributing majorly to its muscular bodywork. That said, its sleeker profile has translated to a kerb weight of 220kg, meaning it’s a whole 15kg lighter than its bulky younger sibling. At its heart, you have a 693cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 76PS and 68.2Nm. The TRK 702 also gets a slipper clutch.
Benelli has offered the TRK 702 in two variants. The road-going one gets 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends with 190mm of ground clearance. The more hardcore variant, on the other hand, gets 19 and 17-inch spoke wheel setup at the front and rear respectively along with a generous 210mm of ground clearance. While the former will be offered in road-biased tyres, the latter will get dual-purpose, tubeless tyres. The seat height on the road-focused bike is 795mm, while the off-road focused variant has a 825mm high seat.

Underpinnings on the Benelli TRK 702 include an inverted fork along with a monoshock. Braking duties are handled by Brembo brakes with dual-channel ABS from Bosch. In terms of features, the ADV packs a TFT instrument console with navigation along with heated grips and seat, all-LED lighting and a USB charging port. Benelli has priced the road-going variant at 46,800 Yuan (approximately Rs 5.48 lakh), while the other variant retails for 50,800 Yuan (approximately Rs 5.95 lakh).
If Benelli does bring the more hardcore, off-road variant of the TRK 702 to India, it’ll be the only alternative to the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT in this segment. That said, Benelli could bring the TRK 800 to our shores instead. Since it already has the 500cc lineup in India, and its sister concern, Moto Morini, has the 650cc lineup, it makes sense for Benelli to bring in its 800cc lineup to expand its portfolio.
