TVS has sent an invite for tomorrow (September 8) for a virtual press event. The invite contains the tagline “The All-New Racer’s Choice.” Well, what could it be? Here’s our analysis:
TVS has been competing in two classes in the National Racing Championship: the four-stroke Pro Stock up to 165cc open and the four-stroke Pro Stock 301–400cc open. Based on the 165cc category, TVS had already launched the Apache RTR 165 RP. So, logically, the Hosur-based brand should come up with a sportier, focused version of the TVS Apache RR 310, likely to be called the ‘Apache RR 310 RP’.
In addition to their RP platform, TVS could make use of its learnings from the Asia Road Racing Championship and also the Petronas TVS Racing Team, which was formed in April 2022 in collaboration with Petronas. In fact, the Petronas partnership was for the RR 310 to begin with. Moreover, for homologation, a certain number of road-going bikes are required, thus reinforcing the speculation about the RR 310 RP.
The end result should be a properly aggressive, track-focused (yet road-legal) Apache RR 310. Since the stock bike costs Rs 2,65,000 and the BTO one with both Race Kit and Dynamic Kit installed retails at Rs 2,82,000 (both ex-showroom Delhi), expect the RP variant to be priced at around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). This will bring TVS’ flagship even closer to its rival, the KTM RC 390 in terms of performance and pricing. Stay tuned to ZigWheels for more details as the bike will be launched tomorrow!
