The Hero Xtreme 200S 4V and XPulse 200T has been discontinued, but XPulse 200 4V fans will have a reason to rejoice even if the popular ADV is discontinued

Quick Highlights

  • Hero has discontinued 3 bikes in India, including two 200cc bikes

  • The brand could be planning on discontinuing the XPulse 200 4V next

  • The brand could also launch a 250cc XPulse as well

Hero MotoCorp has recently discontinued 2 bikes in its 200cc lineup. It includes the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V and the Hero XPulse 200T. It must be noted that Hero, along with axing the 200cc bikes, has discontinued the Passion XTEC as well. However, the discontinuation of 2 bikes in the 200cc segment likely indicates that the Hero XPulse 200 4V could be next. But even if the XPulse 200 4V is gone, there’s still a lot to look forward to.

End of the 200cc platform?

Hero MotoCorp had 3 offerings based on the 199.6cc air and oil-cooled platform: the XPulse 200 4V, the XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S 4V. With the discontinuation of the Hero XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S 4V, Hero only has the XPulse 200 4V as their sole offering on this platform.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V will be eventually replaced by the recently unveiled Hero XPulse 210. It is powered by a new 210cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor which outputs 24.8PS and 20.7Nm.

Compared to the 199.6cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, which outputs 19.1PS and 17.35Nm, this new engine offers a big bump of 5.7PS and 3.35Nm. Overall, the new engine looks more capable on paper than the current 200cc one.

Hero XPulse 200 4V To Be Discontinued?

The Hero XPulse 200 4V will be replaced by the Hero XPulse 210. We believe so because the new 210cc engine looks more capable and is likely to offer better performance overall. It also doesn't make sense to keep the platform alive just for the sake of one bike.

That said, we think the Hero XPulse 200 4V won’t be discontinued right away. The brand could keep the bike around for a bit longer. It will serve as a more affordable and beginner-friendly entry point into the Hero XPulse lineup.

We believe the brand will keep the XPulse 200 4V on offer as long as it doesn't become too costly to keep up with emission norms. After which, Hero XPulse 210 will be the only model that carries the XPulse legacy forward.

Hero Karimza XMR 250

At EICMA 2024, Hero unveiled 2 new bikes based on their upcoming 250cc platform. The new bikes included the Karizma XMR 250 and the Xtreme 250R. So it is possible that in the future we could see an XPulse 250 as well.

We expect the upcoming Hero XPulse 210 to be launched at Hero World 2025 which will take place in February. The bike will go up against the upcoming Kawasaki KLX 230.
