Yamaha has launched a new scooter in Brazil, named Fluo. It is essentially the same scooter that is present in the Indonesian market as the Yamaha FreeGo. Here’s a detailed list of what has changed and what has not for the Brazilian market.
In terms of design, the Fluo is identical to the FreeGo. It retains its modern styling and sporty cues as its Indonesian counterpart. One key difference when it comes to the styling is that the turn signal and the brake lamps are separate in the Fluo, unlike the integrated ones in FreeGo.
Talking about the Fluo’s features, it gets ABS as standard, unlike the FreeGo. Other than that, it has an LED lighting system, a digital LCD instrument cluster, a generous 25 litre storage under the seat along with a USB charging socket. It also gets 12-inch alloy wheels, which should ensure a comfortable ride quality. Yamaha will be offering the Fluo in three colours: black, white and blue.
Powering the Fluo is the same 125cc 4-stroke single-cylinder engine from the FreeGo. It is equipped with Yamaha’s silent starter and churns out 9.6PS at 8000rpm and 10.3Nm at 5500rpm.
The Yamaha Fluo will retail at 13,390 Brazilian Reals (almost Rs. 2,16,587), translating to about 94,642 Baht, making it about 43,400 Baht more expensive than its Indonesian counterpart. Yamaha plans to import it from Indonesia and hence it will be subject to import taxes.
Unfortunately, Yamaha is unlikely to launch it in India, but if you’re looking for a sporty 125cc scooter, then the Yamaha RayZR 125 could be a great choice for you. If you’re looking for a more performance oriented proposition in the 125cc segment, you could consider the NTorq 125.
