BREAKING: Updated KTM 250 Duke Launched at Rs 2.41 lakh

The updated KTM 250 Duke launched in India at Rs 2,41,286 (ex-showroom Delhi), with only an increase of around Rs 2,000 in the price. Similar to the recently updated 200 Duke, the new 250 Duke gets a TFT display and updated switchgear from the KTM 390 Duke. It also gets a bi-directional quickshifter and turn-by-turn navigation.

KTM Duke 250: What’s New?

The updated 2024 KTM 250 Duke now features a new 5-inch TFT instrument console, updated switchgear and even LED DRLs (daytime running lights) from the KTM 390 Duke. Similar to the recently updated KTM 200 Duke, the 250’s TFT console now comes with new features including turn-by-turn navigation and display modes.

The new left-hand-side switchgear would help navigate through the new TFT console and the DRLs will enhance the overall look of the bike. It also gets a bi-directional quickshifter and a type-C charging port. Already existing features like call/SMS alerts, headset pairing, ride-by-wire throttle, and a switchable supermoto ABS mode, have also been carried to the latest bike.

What Remains Unchanged?

The KTM 250 Duke’s engine and underpinnings still remain the same as before. It gets the same 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 31PS at 9,250rpm and 25Nm at 7,250rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and bi-directional quickshifter.

The 250 Duke gets a steel trellis frame and a die-cast aluminium subframe. The naked bike is equipped with a 43mm WP APEX big piston inverted fork at the front and a preload-adjustable WP APEX monoshock at the rear. The bike comes to a halt using 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes, with dual-channel ABS. It also features a supermoto ABS mode, that turns off the rear ABS and allows you to slide the bike around while off-roading.

The KTM 250 Duke sports 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends, wrapped with 110-section front and 150-section rear tubeless tyres. The naked bike features a 15-litre fuel tank capacity, 176mm ground clearance and a 162.8kg kerb weight. The bike also has an optional 800mm or 820mm seat height.

The KTM 250 Duke directly rivals the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. You can also consider the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Bajaj Pulsar N250 in the 250cc naked bike segment.

We think that it was a much needed update for the KTM 250 Duke. It now comes with updated features and that too without a bump in its price, which is surprising for us. The 250 Duke is now an even better bike with features similar to the 390, but easily accessible to the newer riders thanks to the sweet 250cc engine which is powerful but not as manic as the 390 Duke.
