From body kits to air filter, everything you’d need to need to spruce up your steed

The Dominar 400 is the most powerful bike from Bajaj’s stable. It is not just comfortable, but also has enough grunt to make highway touring fun. Not to mention, it comes packed with features and gets premium hardware. But as much as we like the bike in its stock avatar, there are some additions that could make your ride to help it stand out.

Aesthetics

Autologue Explorer Kit

Price: Rs 13,500

Who wouldn’t want their bike to stand out in the crowd, right? What better way to do that than with a full touring body kit. Autologue , a Pune-based company offers this body kit complete with relocation brackets. It even gets an integrated radiator cover. And if you are looking for something that would scream power cruiser (or Ducati Diavel), the company has a kit for that too, and it costs Rs 1,000 less.

Tail Tidy
Price: Rs 3,000
Be it a supersport or streetfighters, no bike is complete without a tail tidy. In the case of the Dominar, the rear fender is an extension of the tail light panel, which means your only bet is to saw off the entire fender...or buy this tail tidy from Autologue. It not only gives a clean looking rear section, but you have the option to switch back to the stock fender during monsoons.

Lluvia Handlebar Riser
Price: Rs 690-Rs 890

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is definitely a comfortable motorcycle for long hauls, but a pair of handlebar risers could further improve the ergos and thereby its overall ribeability.. Lluvia offers two variants of its handlebar risers-- Eco and Pro. While the former comes with standard fasteners, the Pro variant comes with extra rubber rings to dampen vibration. At Rs 890 (for the Pro version), it is not heavy on the pocket either.

Pillion Backrest
Price: Rs 1,490

Riding as a pillion can be equally taxing for your back, but you take some of the load off with a comfortable backrest. . Lluvia’s backrest doesn’t require you to tamper with the existing mounting points of the grab rails, so installation is pretty easy. Another advantage is the height adjustability of the backrest, so pillions of all sizes can be comfortable.

Luggage

Lluvia Saddle Stay
Price: Rs 2,650

Most saddlebags aren’t constructed for motorcycles with monoshock or upswept exhausts. If you intend to tour heavy on your Dominar, a heavy-duty saddle stay goes a long way. Not only does it keep your bags firmly in place, but also acts as crash guard to a certain extent.

Rynox Expedition Stormproof
Price: Rs 5,350

With a combined capacity of 64 litres, the Rynox Expedition Stormproof saddlebags have enough room to store everything you’ll need for a long ride. Like the name suggests, the bags are waterproof, and come with ample reflective tapes for added visibility at night.

Illumination

Maddog Scout-X lights
Price: Rs 5,750

You rarely come across bikes whose stock headlight is powerful enough to light up dimly lit roads, and the Dominar 400’s isn’t one of them. The Maddog Scout-X lights have a brightness of 4800 lumens, which is more than you’d probably ever need. There’s also an 18-month replacement warranty included, so reliability isn’t an issue. Maddog also offers filters and covers for these lights for every riding condition.

Protection

Lluvia Bash Plate
Price: Rs 1,750

The 157mm ground clearance means you are bound to scratch your bike's belly pan at some point, and let’s face it, the guard made from ABS plastic is likely to give way in case you hit a rock. The Lluvia bash plate is designed exactly for that. And unlike most of the aftermarket options, this one is a four-piece construction. So, in case you end up damaging one part, you can simply call up Lluvia and replace that specific piece. Nifty, isn’t it?

Zana Engine Guard
Price: Rs 4,600

Be it trails or tarmac, you are bound to have a crash someday if you ride quite often But having adequate protection could minimize the damage. The Zana engine guard protects the engine casing, radiator and even your legs to an extent, thanks to the sliders welded onto the guard. The engine guard is constructed using stainless steel, so the chances of the guard rusting is extremely slim.

Performance

BMC Air Filter
Price: Rs 5,490

The BMC air filter is a pricey performance option, but a good one, nonetheless. It pulls in more air for more efficient combustion compared to the stock filter. It's also a lot easier to clean. So, you don’t have to worry about a replacement filter if you are planning a long ride to a remote location.
