Benelli is set to announce the price of the Benelli TRK 502 BS6 on January 29. The updated bike is likely to carry a premium of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 over the BS4 bike. What do you get for the extra cash? A couple of extra features, better ergonomics, and a cleaner engine. We recently spotted the Benelli TRK 502 BS6 before its official launch.
The BS6 variant of the Benelli TRK 502 gets reinforced aluminium-frame knuckle guards, revised rear-view mirror design, and new handlebar grips. Moreover, the switchgear is now backlit, and the semi-digital instrument console gets a white backlight for better night visibility. Benelli also aims at launching two to three new bikes every quarter of this year.
Apart from being BS6-compliant, the TRK 502’s motor is likely to remain unchanged. It will continue to be a liquid-cooled, 500cc inline twin-cylinder mill expected to put out 47PS and 46Nm, give or take. There’s no change in hardware either. The Benelli TRK 502 BS6 will use the same USD fork monoshock and braking setup as the BS4 bike.
Although Benelli is yet to announce the price, we expect the TRK 502 BS6 to retail from Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 5.40 lakh. Its rivals include the much more affordable KTM 390 ADV and the more premium Kawasaki Versys 650. However, if you are willing to shell out a bit more, you can get yourself the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT.
As of now, Benelli only has one BS6-compliant motorcycle for sale -- the Imperiale 400. Interested in the Imperiale 400? Check out our long-term review of the bike.
