Hero dealers across the country have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the XPulse 200 BS6. The booking amount ranges from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 depending on the dealership. According to dealer sources, the XPulse 200 BS6 will be launched only in April post the BS6 deadline and along with other 200cc Hero motorcycles like the Xtreme 200R BS6 and Xtreme 200S BS6.
While Hero has not released any details about the new XPulse 200, dealer sources indicate that the carbureted variant will be discontinued. The fuel-injected BS6 motor will get a catalytic converter and the power is expected to see a small dip from the present BS4 version's 18.4PS and 17.1Nm. It will continue to use the same underpinnings like long-travel suspension, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels with dual-purpose wheels as before. Even the front and rear disc setup with single-channel ABS is expected to be carried over.

In terms of pricing, the Hero XPulse 200 will receive a price hike of 10 to 15 per cent over the BS4 Fi variant. Given the current ex-showroom price of Rs 1.06 lakh, that is a hike of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the current BS4 XPulse 200. To offset the substantial hike, the XPulse 200 could get new features.
