Hero MotoCorp was at EICMA 2018 with the new Xpulse 200T and four interesting concepts on display, all based on the upcoming XPulse 200 ADV. Here are the details.
XPulse 200T:
The touring concept has a different ergonomic setup and suspension tuning from the standard XPulse 200. The rider sits 30mm lower, which is probably due to lower suspension travel. For long-distance comfort, the handlebar length is shorter as well. You get navigation integrated into the digital instrument console. For retro flavour, you get hand-painted pinstriping on the fuel tank and a tinted windscreen.
XPulse 200T Scrambler:
As the name suggests, the concept is a 200cc Scrambler with retro design updates like front fork gaiters, aluminium engine guard, flat brown seat and high-mounted exhaust. It gets a grey paint scheme with yellow accents on the wheels, front visor and tank. If it enters production, expect Hero to offer a host of scrambler-centric accessories and riding gear.
XPulse 200T Desert:
This desert tracker gets retro livery, upside down forks, bash plate, handlebar brace, a narrower seat and underseat exhaust. Accessories include a retro enduro helmet and leather jacket. Like the larger and more powerful Ducati Desert Sled, the 200T Desert is built to tackle sand dunes.
XPulse 200T Flat Track:
The idea of a 200cc flat tracker appeal to many who want to learn to go sliding around the corner but are on a budget. The concept bike features a flat tracker bodywork painted in a loud red shade. This one has fatter front tyres mounted on alloy wheels, a wide handlebar, serrated footpegs, minimalist seat padding and an underseat exhaust.
XPulse 200T Cafe Racer:
This concept is a nicely executed one, done up in a retro shade of white with red pinstripes on a one-piece bodywork. It gets golden upside down forks, clip-on handlebars, a single seat and minimalist tail lamp with integrated turn indicators.
Of the four, Hero will be taking just one concept to production based on audience reactions from the web. We for one would love to see the flat tracker come to life.
