Jawa will start accepting bookings of its Perak bobber from 6pm onwards on January 1. Unlike the Jawa and the Forty Two, bookings for the Perak will be limited. It will remain open for a three-month period. Post that, deliveries are slated to take place from April 2. The Perak was launched in November at Rs 1.94 lakh, which was a slight hike from the initial claimed price of Rs 1.89 lakh that was announced when the brand was revived in 2018.
Not much changed in the Perak from its maiden appearance in 2018 to its launch period. The styling of the motorcycle remains the same with a hardtail-like chassis design appealing to bobber enthusiasts. Much like any bobber motorcycle, the Perak only comes as a single-seater with no accessory fitment for a pillion seat.
Powering the Perak is the 334cc single-cylinder engine, which is derived from Jawa’s smaller 293cc unit. The engine is BS6-compliant making it the first Jawa motorcycle to be future emission ready. It churns out 30.4PS and 31Nm.
The Perak gets a conventional front fork while the rear preload-adjustable monoshock is neatly tucked underneath the seat for a clean hardtail look. You get disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.
