Based on our tests, the TVS NTorq today holds the distinction of being the quickest 125cc scooter to be built and sold in India, without compromising on practicality. Given its competitive pricing and performance, we have been seeing quite a few of them already on road. Initially, TVS launched the scooter with only four colour options in matte finish: Yellow, White, Green and Red. But to lure a larger audience with more choice, the company has now launched two more colour options: Blue & Grey.
The newly launched colours are available at no extra cost and certainly enhance the sporty intent of this scooter. Mechanically, everything remains the same - the Indian scooter continues to be powered by a 124.8cc engine that produces 9.4PS at 7500rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5500rpm.
The suspension duties are managed by front telescopic forks and a gas-charged monoshock absorber at the back. For braking, it employs a 220mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The TVS NTorq gets 12-inch wheels with tubeless tyres at both ends, which endow it with sharp handling characteristics. Currently, the TVS NTorq doesn’t get the Sync brake system but TVS has assured us that this safety net will be available in the coming future.
The TVS NTorq is priced at Rs Rs 58,750 (ex-showroom Delhi) and competes against the Aprilia SR 125, launched at Rs 65,310, and the Honda Grazia, priced at Rs 62,505 for the disc and alloy version (both ex-Delhi).
