The image above is of the updated Benelli TRK 502. You may want to either use a magnifying glass or enlarge this image to see what’s new. If you’re in a hurry, we’ll tell you what’s new. First off, the image shows that the motorcycle is equipped with a new aluminium swingarm and Brembo brakes.
Besides that, there are no mechanical changes to report. Yes, even the motor is the same as its predecessor. Benelli has not updated the TRK to meet Euro 5/BS6 emission. But we expect the bike maker to update the engine since the motorcycle has been doing well for the brand. When launched, expect the BS6-compliant TRK 502 to have a different power output compared to the older model. In its current state, the 500cc motor makes 47.5PS and 46Nm.
If you’ve noticed, there’s no windshield on the motorcycle. We believe this could be done for weight saving as the whole mechanism weighs around 4-5kg. It is yet to be known whether Benelli will offer it as an accessory from now on or if it will come without one. Benelli recently updated the TRK 502 twins by introducing new paint options and decals. Check out our detailed story on that.
Benelli will bring the BS6-compliant motorcycles in India, but we have no official word on the timeline. Expect a price hike of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the current models.
