A spy shot of a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 sporting a monza fairing has surfaced on the internet, hinting that the Chennai-based bikemaker could be working on making a street-legal version of its Continental GT-R 650 cup bike. But is slapping a fairing enough to do justice to that? Well, no.
Thanks to the fairing, the clip-on handlebars have been lowered, which should translate to a more committed riding posture. While it is unclear whether the footpeg position has been revised as well, it would be only fitting to do so, to give a more engaging riding posture.
What we can make out from the picture, though, is that the cafe racer could sport remote-adjustable rear suspension which should make tuning the shocks much simpler. And given all the track-ready changes that this bike has, having adjustable front suspension would make it all the more tempting.
Not so long ago, another test mule of an updated Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 was spied, flaunting alloy wheels and a new taillight. However, the faired bike sported wire-spoke rims and the same taillight as the current-gen model.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 retails for Rs 3,14,038 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards, and we believe this faired variant could cost around Rs 15,000 more than the standard model.
