Modified Royal Enfield motorcycles are as synonymous to the Indian custom bike scene as modified Harley-Davidsons are to that in the United States. We’ve covered a lot of modified Royal Enfield bikes on our website in the past, but this custom Cafe Racer-Scrambler hybrid from Neev Motorcycles in Delhi has to be one of our favourites. Starting off with a standard Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, Neev has kept the frame and fuel tank unmodified, but swapped out the large single piece seat for a smaller, flat unit that’s followed up with a short tail cowl. We especially like how the wraparound LED taillight has been integrated into the subframe, giving the rear a bit of a Knight Rider/Robocop vibe.
One big change, of course, is the fork - the conventional unit on the GT 650 has been swapped out for a fat upside down fork, most likely pinched from KTM along with the KTM’s brake setup, times two. Yes, this custom RE runs dual 320mm brake rotors up front with radial calipers from Bybre. It also looks like these front brakes run with a radial pump setup. It also runs a rather cool looking round LED headlight which goes rather well with the GT 650’s old-school charm. The new clip-on ‘bars actually clip under the top triple clamp, dropping the bike’s stance even lower. Add to that upright bar end mirrors, and this custom GT 650 looks even lower and wider, giving it a really muscular demeanour.
This muscular look is accentuated by the knobby & chunky Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres shod on beautiful 17-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels. The Conti’s twin pod instrument cluster, too, has been moved off the handlebar to the lower right side of the fuel tank, giving the top of the handlebars a very clean look. Completing the look is a clean metallic grey paint job and an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust that should bring some aural excitement to all the visuals. If you’re keen on getting a custom bike yourself, Neev Motorcycles can be contacted through their Instagram handle or their Facebook page.
