Yamaha Ray ZR 125

Price: The price of Yamaha Ray-ZR 125 hybrid is offered in two variants: drum and disc. The drum variant is available in Metallic Black, Cyan Blue and Matte Red colours and costs Rs 85,030. The disc variant on the other hand starts at Rs. 91,630 for the Cyan Blue, Matte Red and Metallic Black colours whereas the Racing Blue and Dark Matte Blue colours are priced at Rs 92,630 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Design: The Ray ZR 125 is a bit of an oddball when it comes to design. Its peculiar styling may not be to everyone's liking. But if there is one thing that goes in the favour of the scooter is that it is quite distinctive and doesn’t blend into the plethora of conventional designs.

Features: The Ray ZR 125 Fi comes with a Smart Motor Generator System, essentially a silent starter. It also comes with a Stop & Start system which automatically turns off the engine when idling in traffic for a while. The motor cranks up again as soon as the throttle is applied. Yamaha has introduced the Ray-ZR 125 Fi Hybrid for 2021 which features an LED headlight, LED tail light and Bluetooth connectivity. Other than this, it also gets a side stand cut-off switch, 21-litre underseat storage and an optional USB charger.

Engine: Powering the scooter is a new 125cc fuel-injected hybrid engine which churns out 8.2PS and 10.3Nm of peak torque (up by 0.5Nm). Yamaha says its hybrid engine is capable of delivering better mileage (16 percent more) while producing 30 percent more torque (compared to the 113cc Fascino).

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid gets a telescopic fork up front and a single shock absorber at the rear. The top-end variant gets a drum-disc brake setup with UBS (Unified Braking System). The scooter tips the scales at 99kg kerb, making it the lightest 125cc scooter on sale in India.

Rivals: The Ray-ZR 125 goes up against the TVS NTorq 125 and the Honda Dio 125 and the Hero Maestro Edge 125 in terms of rivals.

Variants: The RayZR 125 Fi is available with a front drum brake and front disc brake variants along with the Yamaha Monster Energy MotoGP Edition. The drum variant is available in three colours: Metallic Black, Cyan Blue and Matte Red. The disc variant is available in five colours Cyan Blue, Matte Red, Metallic Black Racing Blue and Dark Matte Blue while the top Yamaha Monster Energy MotoGP Edition features race-inspired graphics.
